Obituary for John M. "Jack" Sherrerd

John M. "Jack"  Sherrerd
John “Jack” Maxwell Sherrerd, 91, of Clinton, NJ, passed away on January 14, 2018 in Phoebe Home, Allentown, PA. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara M. Sherrerd with whom he shared 49 years of marriage before her passing in 2005. Born in Clinton, he was a son of the late John M. and Gertrude (Jones) Sherrerd. He was a 1948 graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in Chemistry. Later he joined his mother in the family business, Sherrerd’s Florist and Greenhouses, Clinton, where he remained for over 40 years until retiring. He was active in Rotary International for 63 plus years and he was an active member of Clinton Presbyterian Church where he served as both a Deacon and Elder. He also served on the boards of Riverside Cemetery Assoc., Clinton Twp. Planning Board and Board of Education, was a member of Stanton Grange and FTD association.

Survivors: He is survived by his son, Robin Sherrerd and wife Linda of Bethlehem, PA; Daughter, Kathleen Beckman and husband Kevin of Louisville, KY; son in law, Don Farley; brother, Chris Sherrerd of Shippensburg; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a Daughter, Carol J. Farley and a brother, Morris Sherrerd.

Services: A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24th at 1:00 p.m. in the Clinton Presbyterian Church, 91 Center St., Clinton, NJ. The Family will greet relatives and friends immediately follow the service. Arrangements entrusted to the JAMES FUNERAL HOME, Bethlehem, PA.
