Obituary for Marcella C. "Markee" Cummings

Marcella C. "Markee"  Cummings
Marcella "Markee" Cummings, 69, of Allentown, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, July 7, 2017. She was the long time friend and companion of Larry Kleppinger whom she married on April 5, 2017. Born in East Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late James J. Jr. and Shirley M. (Dunlap) Cummings. Markee, was a graduate of Stroudsburg High School and attended East Stroudsburg University. She worked for the Department of Public Welfare for over 35 years retiring as a supervisor in 2005. She also worked as the door person at The Stonewall Bar in Allentown for many years and was a founding member of Fighting AIDS Continuously Together (FACT), where she served as their first treasurer and served on the board. Markee, will be missed by all who's live's she touched.

Survivors: in addition to her husband, Larry, she is survived by her brother, Jay Cummings III (Kathleen) of Savanah, GA; nephews, Michael A Cummings (Nicole) of Huntersville, NC; R. Scott Cummings (Cory) of Lake Oswego, NC; great nieces, Mae, Karis, Quinlyn and great nephew, Slaton. Also survived by Chelsea and Paige Gross who were very dear to her.

Services: Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 2-4:00 P.M. followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 P.M. in the JAMES FUNERAL HOME, 527 Center Street, Bethlehem. A reception will follow the service at a location to be announced. Condolence messages may be left at www.jamesfuneralhome.org
